The Shooting Gallery opened it's doors in 2003 in the edgy Tenderloin area of San Francisco, a neighborhood known for it's diverse culture and history. Owner and curator Justin Giarla, a native Californian, opened the space to create a comfortable and un-intimidating environment perfect for viewing art. An idea inspired by the stuffy, elitist gallery's of downtown San Francisco. Art is for everyone, not just the wealthy.

Justin started collecting art when he was 23 and has since amassed over 400 pieces of art in his own collection and continues to support the arts whenever possible. Justin's taste in art is reflective of his growing up in California - Low Brow, Pop Art, street art, outsider art, punk rock album art, comic book art, skateboarding & surfing, hot rods and erotic photography have all been things that have inspired him to open his own art gallery.

Since opening The Shooting Gallery, Justin has gone on to open 3 other gallery's in San Francisco - White Walls, Gallery Three and D.D.Arts as well as a publishing company. The Shooting Gallery also participates in Art fairs around the world and deals in secondary market purchases.
